Wilkinson Sword tests new mobile ad platform
Wilkinson Sword is to launch an in-app advertising campaign using mobile ad agency’s YOC Group’s Ad Plus platform to target iPhone and iPad users.

The campaign is scheduled to launch on iPad next week with a second phase kicking-off on iPhone next month with both scheduled to run until December.

The male-grooming brand is the first to launch a campaign using YOC Group’s Ad Plus format which lets users interact with video ads and includes the ability to distribute coupons via an app.

The platform works similarly to Apple’s iAd platform by allowing users to interact with ads within mobile apps and lets advertisers target consumers by age, locations and gender.

Gary Danks, YOC Group advertising director, said, “YOC Ad Plus allows advertisers to hand pick well known media titles on which to run their campaigns, offering a solid advertising environment.”

Apple’s iAd is set to formally launch in the UK this month although it soft-launched last month
