IPC adopts social media platform Pluck |
|
Marie Claire, NME and Wallpaper* publisher IPC Media has signed a deal with social media platform Pluck to increase user interaction across its sites.
Users will be able to access a social network account, importing friends and contacts so they can have conversations, share content and comment on site content, generating user-content through a three-way conversation.
The platform will “blur the lines” between IPC’s sites and social networks, according to an IPC spokeswoman.
The publisher is focusing on increasing user engagement through social media as it seeks ways to monetise its digital offering.
Earlier this month, it formed its first dedicated social media position. Ex-Vodafone social media consultant Cathy Ma took the reins as social media product manager, with a focus on building a company-wide monetisation strategy for social media and developing sources of revenue.
Publishers and broadcasters that have already implemented Pluck include Condé Nast, Guardian Group, ITV, News International, Mirror Group and Sky. |
