The show, produced by ITV Studios, follows ageing rock star Brian Pern, played by Fast Show star Simon Day, who is more interested in video blogging about his own interests and political views than making music.

The BBC has run various online-only series including the Eastenders web spin-off, Eastenders E20, the second series of which was given the go ahead earlier this year.

The first series of the spin off attracted 3m requests on the Eastenders site and the BBC iPlayer.
