X Factor app launches on Ovi
The X Factor has launched an exclusive mobile app for the Ovi Store that can keep Nokia users up to date with developments on the talent show.

The free app is compatible with high-end Nokia devices, including its flagship N8 device, which will launch later this month.

The X Factor Ovi app contains video from the TV show and will allow users to join discussion groups on the previous week’s evictions.

However, they can’t use the app to vote on the eviction polls during the TV show.

Nokia worked with ITV, Syco Entertainment and TalkbackThames to launch the X Factor 2010 app as part of its strategy to further populate its Ovi Store.

Robert Marsh, head of TalkbackThames Digital, said, “An important part of our continuing strategy to evolve the X Factor brand is to build its presence across multi-platforms to further enrich viewers’ enjoyment of the shows.”

Other X Factor-branded apps are available on Apple’s App Store, although the Ovi app has unique functions, such as connecting to social media site Facebook.
